a word from our founder

Sandra Felli

Founder

I'm Sandra Felli, the founder of Bambini of Lilyfield, created over 20 years ago for one reason: I wanted parents to have peace of mind and children to have the kind of care that feels like love and family.

When my daughters were only six weeks old, I searched for an environment offering security, warmth, belonging, and early learning through play - and I realised how deeply those needs matter from the very beginning. Bambini was born from that personal journey. Our motto, "Inspiring Young Minds", reflects what I believe early childhood education should really be: a caring place where children feel safe enough to explore, question, try,and grow. That starts with educators - respected, supported, and continuously learning - so their passion creates an inspiring centre culture for every child and every family.

At Bambini, we're not just a childcare service. We are a supportive extension of your family - built on love, trust, and confidence.

Director

I have worked in early childhood education for over 30 years, beginning my journey in New Zealand within the Kōhanga Reo movement, where I completed my Teaching Diploma. These early experiences shaped my deep respect for culture, identity and belonging.

I am passionate about creating environments where children feel seen, valued and connected. I have a strong love of the outdoors, sustainability and nature, and as a keen gardener and DIY enthusiast, I value natural spaces that inspire curiosity and respect for all living things.

Professionally, I believe in reflective practice, ethical leadership and strong partnerships with families and educators, fostering a culture where both children and educators can thrive.

2IC

I began my career in travel and tourism, where I worked for 16 years. When Bambini first opened, I was invited to help in the Babies Room, and what was meant to be temporary quickly became a passion. At the time, my own children were young, which made the experience even more meaningful.

I fell in love with early childhood education and supporting children's emotional, social and physical development. Seventeen years later, I remain just as passionate. Over the years, I have grown from Educator to Room Leader and now 2IC, strengthening my leadership skills while staying closely connected to children, families and educators.

Creating an environment where children feel safe, valued and confident to learn continues to inspire me every day.

Grandi Room Leader

I came to Australia from Poland in 2018, planning what was meant to be a nine-month adventure, eight years later, I'm still here.

I began my career in early childhood education while completing my Certificate III, and started at Bambini in November 2019. Over the years, I have grown from a casual educator to a Room Leader, expanding my knowledge and qualifications along the way. In 2024, I completed my Bachelor's Degree to become an Early Childhood Teacher.

Through this journey, I have developed a deeper understanding of child development and how crucial the early years are in shaping who children become. I believe every child is unique and deserves the opportunity to learn through play, exploration and creativity.

Felice Room Leader

I chose to work in early childhood education because I genuinely enjoy supporting children during their early years and being part of their learning and development. I find it rewarding to help children build confidence, independence and essential life skills while creating a safe and welcoming environment where they feel secure, settled and excited to learn.

Growing up in a household of nine children meant life was often busy and full of energy. This experience helped me develop patience, flexibility and a strong sense of connection, which supports my work in an early learning environment.

Outside of work, I enjoy camping and crafting. These interests reflect my appreciation for creativity, hands-on learning, sustainability and connection to nature.

Piccolini Room Leader

I believe that every child comes into the world with their own strengths, ideas and ways of understanding it. My role as an educator is to honour each child's individuality by creating a space where they feel safe, supported and encouraged to be themselves.

I am passionate about building nurturing and stimulating environments where children can explore, ask questions and grow at their own pace. Equity and inclusion guide my practice, and I place great value on helping children develop respect for differences by embracing diversity and multicultural perspectives in everyday learning.

I strive to teach in ways that truly make sense to children, supporting not only their learning but also their emotional, physical and cognitive development as a whole. At the heart of my teaching is the goal of raising a future generation that learns with compassion and leads with care.

I've been part of the Bambini family for over 10 years, and one of the best parts of my journey has been watching children grow from Piccolini right through to graduating from Grandi. Being able to share in the children's learning, milestones and everyday moments brings me so much joy and pride.

I'm a proud Polynesian Mumma to three beautiful children and two gorgeous grandchildren. I'm known for bringing lots of warmth, laughter and culture into the centre each day, along with my love for nature and colour. You'll often spot me wearing a different flower every day, a little touch of the Fijian way.

I am a dedicated early childhood educator with a passion for sparking curiosity, creativity, and confidence in young learners, sometimes fueled by coffee and lots of imagination! I believe every child is a capable learner with unique strengths, and I strive to create a safe, inclusive, and playful environment where they can explore, imagine, and occasionally make a joyful mess. Through intentional, play-based experiences, I connect children to culture, community, and the natural world, nurturing respect, empathy, and a lifelong love of learning. By blending creativity, care, and a sprinkle of humor, I support each child's holistic development and help them grow into confident, caring, and capable little humans.

Over the years, I have worn many hats, from studying Biological Science and Disabilities to gaining many years of experience in child care. I hold a Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care and am the proud mum of three beautiful grown-up children, who love to call me a "boomer" even though I'm proudly Gen X!

Now that my own children are grown, I absolutely love sharing warm cuddles with the little ones in our care. Some might say I'm a bit loud, but that's my energetic nature shining through, especially when I'm singing and dancing with the children. I'm known for bringing lots of energy, laughter and fun, and I might even break into karaoke from time to time!

I am originally from Lang, Nepal, a small and beautiful place known for its inclusive and diverse culture. I am currently studying a Bachelor of Early Childhood Education and Care.

In my free time, I enjoy staying active through go-karting, archery and hiking. I also have a little dog named Bella who brings so much joy to my life.

I am a Diploma-qualified Early Childhood Educator with a strong passion for learning, community and social awareness. My favourite subject is Social Science, as it helps me stay informed about current trends and better understand the world around us.

I enjoy watching films and documentaries that focus on history and real-life stories. I also find peace and joy in gardening, especially when flowers bloom, as it brings me a sense of calm and fulfilment.

I come from a large family of seven siblings and am the sixth child. I was raised on a farm in the Philippines, surrounded by rivers, mountains, lush greenery, animals, fruit and vegetables. Growing up in such a rich natural environment shaped my values of simplicity, sustainability, family and respect for nature, which continue to influence my approach as an educator today.

I joined the Bambini family in 2024, beginning my role as a Tesorini educator before transitioning into the Grandi room in 2025. Afterwards, I took a gap year to live along Victoria's Great Ocean Road and travel throughout Europe, experiences that enriched my perspective and informed my approach to teaching and learning. In my spare time, you'll often find me curled up with a good book. This passion for literacy naturally extends into my teaching, where I incorporate meaningful reading and storytelling experiences into the Grandi program to support children's language development, creativity, and imagination.

As the eldest of three siblings, I have naturally developed a strong sense of responsibility and care for younger children. I am committed to creating a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment where every child feels valued, supported, and confident to learn and grow.
